Who Can Train at Newtons Tennis?

Who Can Train at Newtons Tennis?

This very question is the reason Newtons Tennis was developed and going to be built.

Why Newtons Exists

Tennis is different to team sports — you can’t hide in the game. You have to be ready to perform at your best on every point. But in Queensland, the system often makes that pathway difficult for serious players. Sure we have an NDS but that only 4 spots per age group,

A True Case Study

Imagine you’re a Queensland player sitting at UTR 10. Where do you train?

  • Clubs require memberships and charge up to $30/hour for court hire. Training 4 hours a day quickly becomes unaffordable.
  • If your club doesn’t have other UTR10+ players, you won’t get the quality of hitting you need.
  • Most clubs won’t allow you to bring your own specialist coach or external hitting partners, when renting their courts.
  • Even senior coaches often lack the time (or the current playing level) to provide true pro-level training hours.
  • No club has the facilities to provide training, undercover courts, education, strength &recovery in the one location.

This is the gap in the system — councils build courts, clubs run them for profit, but serious juniors are left without a home to truly train. That’s the gap Newtons Tennis is designed to fill.

Who We Are Not For

  • ❌ Hobby tennis players
  • ❌ Social players using tennis to keep fit
  • ❌ Children in “learn to play” programs

There are many commercial clubs around Australia already catering to those groups.

Who We Are For

Our facility is being built exclusively for:

  • ✅ Fully vetted juniors (aged 12 to 16) committed to tennis as their career pathway
  • ✅ Professionally ranked players competing on pro circuits
  • ✅ World-ranked players seeking recovery, respite, and high-performance training in Australia

Accommodation & Respite

On-site studio apartments are available for all world-ranked players to live, hit, and stay — free of charge*. This is our family’s philanthropic commitment to global tennis.

For Juniors

Admission for juniors involves an interview process with both parent and child to ensure:

  • Commitment to a serious tennis career
  • 6 days a week training
  • Full time is our preferred with schooling onsite.
  • Long-term vision for success

These juniors will pay a fee and this fee will help with the facility, but there is no way these fees can cover the cost of the capital and running costs of Newtons.  This is all paid for by the Newtons  investment into Tennis for Queensland

In return, juniors will not only access pro training coaches and courts, the other important aspects on competitive playing, like mindset and strength and fitness coaches are on staff, but also they recover and relax in a private setting set on 11 acres in metro Brisbane, where world pros living onsite and will mentor their growth.
